Somatic Movement Workshop with Shaila Khan and SAC

The Centre for Safer Sex and Sexual Violence Support is excited to bring a somatic movement workshop to the TMU community with Shaila Khan, registered psychotherapist (qualifying). This event is trauma-informed and open to all students who would benefit from somatic exploration in a non-judgmental spaces event.

Through guided somatic practices drawn from dance/movement therapy, expressive arts therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, and belly dance traditions, participants will explore how the body’s wisdom can support emotional regulation and resilience. Together, we’ll learn how to map the nervous system, understand somatics as both interoception (awareness of inner sensations) and neuroception (the body’s sense of safety), and use pleasure as a resource for vitality and grounding.

Spots in this class are claimed on a first come first serve basis. For more information about the class, timings, and registration, please visit this form.
