Sexual Self Care is Important for Everyone

Sexual self care is something that can be beneficial in so many ways. It can be a form of social, physical, emotional, and spiritual self-care. You may use it to get to know your body better and connect or reconnect with it. It can allow you to heal from past negative experiences and teach you to embrace and love your body. Sex and sexual behaviour is a normal thing for everyone, and practicing sexual self-care can improve your sex life and general wellbeing. Sexual self-care can release feel-good hormones specifically through sex, masturbation, orgasm, or self-care generally.

So, what can you do to practice sexual self-care?

o   Take some time to look in the mirror and compliment yourself and all parts of your body. Really get to know your whole body.

o   Masturbate!

o   Tell your partner what you want and what feels good, achieve orgasm equity!

o   Pamper yourself.

o   Create a comfortable environment for yourself. 

o   Focus on the sexual moment- be mindful when engaging in sexual activity to fully enjoy it.

o   Be true to yourself and your wants.

o   Do research on your options for all aspect of your sexuality and sex life.

o   Get tested and (if necessary) see a gynecologist regularly.

o  Think about what works for you, whether that be creating a sexual routine or adding some spontaneity.

o   Consider speaking to a sex therapist if you want to learn more or have any concerns about your sexual health.

Taking the time to care for yourself in a sexual way is so important and can be done on a daily basis for the greatest sexual health. So what will you do to assure you are practicing sexual self care?
